The Ransom ist ein Song aus dem zweiten Album von Madison Violet – No Fool For Trying (2009). Der wunderbare Harmoniegesang von Brenley MacEachern und Lisa MacIsaac kommt hier besonders zum Tragen.

Die beiden Kanadierinnen singen von dem manchmal schwierigen Leben als Musikerinnen, von Auftritten in verräucherten Clubs und chronischem Geldmangel. Ich war schon beim ersten Hören von dem Song angetan und mag ihn auch jetzt noch sehr.
